Scott Stallings
President, Chief Executive Officer & Founder
scott@preppercon.com
Scott started Prepping at the Age of 13 when he first read My side of the Mountain. Inspired by the book, he challenged himself to learn various survival skills. From this initial interest, his passion for prepping began to grow and grow.
While in high school, Scott participated in wrestling and learned the value of staying fit and mentally ready. His coaches would always drill into him the understanding that wrestling is 10% perspiration and 90% mental preparation. His drive for sports and focus on mental preparation were reinforced by many other skills which he obtained through participation in the Boy Scouts Of America. Scott ultimately earned the highest scouting award of Eagle in 1995.
After completing high school, Scott served a two year mission for his church. It was during this time that he witnessed his first major catastophy. While living in Hunters Creek, Florida, he experienced firsthand the devastation of F3 tornados and near F4 winds in the Kissimmee St Cloud Tornado Outbreak. The next three weeks entailed massive volunteer cleanup efforts to assist the local population recover as quickly and as effectively as possible. Upon returning home from his church service, Scott quickly returned to his individual prepping. On his way to college, he threw together a small bug-out bag/72 hour kit. Since then, the bug-out bag has evolved into a comprehensive project that he counts as one of his most prized possesions. In 2004, Scott began a career as a college recruiter at the University of Phoenix (in Phoenix) and was quickly promoted to take charge of recruiting and admissions for high school outreach efforts. He completed his undergraduate work and an MBA from the University of Phoenix before moving to California to take on positions with three other universities, including Trident University International.
After over a decade in higher education administration, Scott returned to Utah to settle down and marry his sweetheart, Jessica. Scott's experiences all over the country have shown him that no matter where he goes, he can only ultimately rely on himself and his 'preps'. Since returning to Utah, Scott has augmented his prepping passion and now shares his knowledge with Boy Scouts, friends, neighbors, and strangers who express an interest. Scott's ultimate goal is to see PrepperCon expand across the nation and to spend his downtime living off grid in a home he and Jessica build together.

Nannette Hansen
Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer & Founder
nannettehansen@preppercon.com
Before the term "prepper" became popular, Nannette had long been schooled to "be prepared". Her parents survived the great depression and lived the wise adage, "Waste not, want not". Some of her earliest recollections were of helping harvest eggs from a small chicken coop in the family's yard and as a toddler, shadowing her dad into the orchard watching him labor to cultivate amazing apricots, peaches, cherries, grapes, and pears. Happily enjoying stories and conversation while working alongside her mother, she also learned the art of home canning and the satisfaction and security that comes from seeing those fruit and juice bottles lined up on storage shelves.
As a baby boomer growing up during the "cold war", Nannette remembers searching out bomb shelter signs in public places and participating in nuclear bomb drills that required children to run home from the school as fast as thy could when the siren sounded. It was the tension of that era and his love for the outdoors that prompted her dad to purchase acreage for a family retreat. The property was used and remains a base camp for deer hunting season, target practice, and numerous hours spent at the river's edge fishing. Trout, venison, and pheasant were frequently served at her family table.
Nannette graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Studies with her certification in Secondary Education. She met her husband Dave while in college and worked as a high school teacher after graduation. Always improving ways to keep the family prepared and organized, Nannette wrote the book The Family Data Book - "Everything you need to know and thought was lost". When Dave and Nannette married, one of their first purchases was wheat. Their little "storehouse" of essentials expanded and grew at the same rate as their family of six children. One of Nannette's great-grandmothers actually crossed the plains with the Mormon pioneers as a small child. She told Nannette's father that she remembered hearing the Mormon Prophet, Brigham Young proclaim, "There would come a day when a barrel of wheat would be worth a barrel of gold." That statement has been a profound guiding force for Nannette. Having come from a heritage of survivalists, her desire is to teach others survival skills and motivate them to prepare for life's challenges - both big and small.

Ben Hansen
Chief of Media and Entertainment
ben@preppercon.com
As an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, Ben learned the importance of what it means to "Be Prepared" at an early age. With the same fascination he had for earning merit badges in scouting, Ben continued learning survival skills through his obsession with certifications and licenses. Residing in Southern California, Ben is a licensed FAA pilot, FCC amateur radio operator, CERT member, American Red Cross Disaster Action Team member, NRA Firearms Instructor, licensed falconer, certified SCUBA diver, and participates in Search and Rescue dog training. After completing a Bachelors Degree in Sociology with a Criminology and Corrections certification, Ben worked for several years for the State of Utah investigating child sex crimes before going to work for the FBI in the position of Special Agent. For the past several years, Ben has been working in the television entertainment industry, hosting shows airing on the Syfy, Smithsonian, and History Canada networks. In addition to running a partnership with his own production company Hypocenter Productions, Ben is a spokesperson and dealer for Bushnell's line of night vision and thermal equipment through his company Night Vision Ops. When he finds the time, he also teaches concealed firearm permit classes and advanced handgun defense courses around the nation.
Although disaster and emergency preparedness is often a serious matter, Ben's mission is to also make PrepperCon a highly entertaining event that the whole family can enjoy. With celebrity guests from TV and survival shows, disaster simulators, a fashion show, and hands-on workshops and classes, Ben describes PrepperCon as "an intense hybrid of disaster preparedness expos and Comic Con".

Chief Administrator
jessica@preppercon.com
Jessica has always been concerned with the well being of her friends and family. This desire pushed her through highschool and into college where she completed a degree in Family and Human Studies. Determined to remain out of debt, Jessica worked her way through college and graduated in 2009 completely debt free. While at the University, she also spent time interning with the Davis County Sheriffs office working closely with the EMT's and to this day wants to become a certified EMT in case of emergencies. Not only is Jessica very caring and devoted to her family, she is very driven and accomplished. Upon completing college she became a Training Specialst for the University Hospital and has worked closely with administration and medical staff to roll out EPIC their innovative and new patient care records system.
Her passion for prepping is a result of her individual drive to succeed, her love of family, and her never quit attitude. She is most interested in the areas of health and first aid. Growing up in a household of preppers Jessica has always had a 72 hour kit nearby and/or a car kit in every vehicle she has owned. Being prepared isn't just for boyscouts she says. When it comes to being prepared, it's all about planning ahead. She loves making plans and task lists, Jessica makes sure things get done and done right. Jessica also loves service and is often found working in her community and with her church with the local teens.

Josh Minson
Chief of Exhibitor Management & Founder
josh@preppercon.com
For the past ten years, Josh's career focus has been working in the jewelry industry where he manages the flow of production for a large manufacturer. Josh has had the opportunity to travel all over the United States participating in the largest running jewelry conventions, bringing in vendors from across the globe. Working within the convention circuit, meeting a wide range of business people, and working alongside event organizers has been a highlight of Josh's career.
Within the last five years, Josh has also focused on prepping. With increasing world disasters and economic collapses, Josh began to feel an urgency to do as much as he could to strategize ways to keep himself and his family safe. Prepping has become a way of life for Josh. As he puts it, "Without prepping for life's emergencies, I could lose what matters most... my family." Because of Josh's passion, you'll often find him preaching prepping to anyone who will listen. One of Josh's recent projects is learning the ins and outs of solar energy collection. He's also a big advocate of homeowners learning skills to remodel and repair their own houses because others with necessary skills may not always be available in the future. Josh takes pride in personal ownership and self-reliance which also enhances the value of his community. Josh is now dedicated to helping others feel prepared to take care of themselves and their families, regardless of what life throws at them.

Jenny Minson
Chief of Exhibitor Relations
jenny@preppercon.com
Jenny grew up with the peace of mind that her family's well-being would always be secure if a disaster occured. Every time she walked into the family food storage room, she was reminded of her family's preparedness efforts. Jenny's mother instilled in her the importance of preparing for the unexpected. Having opportunities such as working with a humanitarian aid group in Africa, Jenny saw firsthand how fragile life can be living from day to day. Although these good people had few resources and storing an excess of food was nearly impossible, they did teach Jenny many basic skills of surviving off the land. She observed their techniques for collecting drinkable rainwater from their roofs and harvesting food sources such as large slugs and vegetation of which most of our Western culture is completely unfamiliar. Their clothing was limited to one or two changes, but it was further proof to Jenny that a little can go a long way and that one does not need a lot of "stuff" to truly sustain life. Anyone can be happy in just about any situation if you posses some basic skills and have a positive attitude.
Another one of Jenny's core principles is the importance of being mentally prepared for life's struggles. While in high school, she participated in several team sports. Playing as a sophomore on the varsity squad, Jenny anticipated an exciting senior year as a significant starter when suddenly a devastating injury to her knee brought her dream of a college sports career to an abrupt end. Her father discussed options with her, emphasizing the importance of not letting a physical circumstance define who she was as a person. He helped her understand that it was her character and inner strength that made her who she really was and could become. Her father taught her that if she could find the inner strength to triumph over this hurdle, she would be able to use those same skills to overcome larger battles that would arise later in life. In her senior year, Jenny went on to place at the Utah State Javelin Competition and received MVP of her high school track team. Jenny later graudated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Studies. Her life experiences have taught her, "Surviving is both a team and individual effort."
